Ekeler played with the Chargers for seven seasons and became a free agent after the 2023-24 campaign.

He joined the Commanders in the offseason after having contract disputes with LA the previous few years.

On Monday, Ekeler appeared on Adams' program as the host asked the NFL player about him seemingly not being a fit with the Chargers.

"How could you possibly be in misalignment [with the Chargers] when you could do everything?" she asked, referencing his abilities to run and catch the football.

Ekeler answered, saying that new LA head coach Jim Harbaugh and the new regime were looking for something different than what he brings to the table.

"I think you can kind of see how they've been building the team so far this offseason," he told Adams.

"Went out and drafted a tackle first round, brought in some bigger backs over from Baltimore."

Ekeler referenced the Chargers drafting offensive lineman Joe Alt and adding former Baltimore Ravens running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards.

Then, he revealed his belief that LA wanted a workhouse which doesn't fit his

"They wanted a guy to hand the ball off to 300 times a year," Ekeler said.

Kay Adams locked in debate with fan over Patrick Mahomes and tells him 'it's not a reason to discredit other QBs'

"I haven't had the capacity to do that.

"That's not my game.

"There was a misalignment there, no harm, no foul."

Ekeler has never eclipsed 300 carries during his career.
