It was Judge's 25th of the season - four clear of any other MLB player.

Since May 15, Judge has 14 HRs, 32 RBI, .557 OBP, 1.110 SLG, and a 340 WRC+.

Judge hits a home run every 3.202 games - the best rate in the history of baseball.

And his slugging percentage of .712 on the season also puts him in elite company.

Only Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds have managed over .700 in a full season this century.

"I remember not so long ago some Yankees fans were booing this guy though. Truly a goat," commented one fan.

"Aaron judge I’m getting really close to saying I’ve never seen anything like this," added another.

Juan Soto has returned from his injury troubles and New York looks a force to be reckoned with.

But Jorge Posada believes the key to the success is discipline - not their attention-grabbing hitting.

The legendary former Yankees backstop was asked if Judge and Soto's plate discipline was behind their prowess.

Yankees' Aaron Judge leaves MLB fans puzzled with odd response to question about his whereabouts during NYC earthquake

“No question,” Posada told YES Network. “You might not see it in the first at-bat, second at-bat of the series.

"But out of a three-game, four-game series, the pitchers have got to come to the plate at some point.

“It just wears down a pitcher."

Judge is leading the MLB in walks this season with 55 drawn.

Soto is second with 49.

Five key MLB rule changes in 2024

1. The pitch clock is reduced from 20 to 18 seconds with runners on base. It will remain at 15 seconds with bases empty.

2. When a pitching change is made, the innings timer will reset to 2:00 rather than 2:15 like it did last year.

3. Teams will only be allowed four mound visits per game in 2024, down from five last season.

4. Fielders and defenders blocking bases will be called for obstruction by referees.

5. The runners' lane from home plate to first base has been widened to include the dirt between the grass and the white line.

“Nowadays, they get a pitcher out [of the game] in 80 pitches,” Posada added.

“So I think we would have been a lot tougher on pitchers if we would have done the things that they’re doing now.

"It just wears down on the pitcher.”
