Cameron Brink suffers torn ACL and out for entire WNBA season as fans make Caitlin Clark prediction for Olympics
WNBA rookie star Cameron Brink suffered a torn ACL in a Tuesday game and will miss the rest of the season.
The Los Angeles Sparks power forward, 22, will also miss the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer, and fans believe Caitlin Clark may be next in line to take her place.
Brink had to be carried off the floor during the Sparks' road loss to the Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena.
She suffered a knee injury and screamed in pain during the sequence.
Brink was attempting to drive past Suns' center Brionna James with the ball but awkwardly fell to the floor.
Teammates helped the Sparks rookie who hobbled to the bench and shook her head before receiving attention from medical personnel.

A day after the injury, the Sparks confirmed that Brink suffered a season-ending torn ACL injury.
After she undergoes ACL surgery, the Stanford product will likely be out of action for up to a year due to rehab.
Brink will miss the rest of the 2024-25 WNBA season and this summer's Olympics.
She was named to Team USA's 3x3 women's basketball team earlier this month.

Fans now believe that the 2024 No. 1 overall pick of the Indiana Fever Clark will replace Brink on the team.
"The smart move would be to go get Caitlin Clark," one commented.
"Catlin Clark should finally play in the Olympics," another said.
"The women's team could make some major noise and bring Caitlin Clark into the fold with Cameron Brink missing out due to injury," a third wrote.
The NCAA Divison 1 all-time leader in scoring Clark not being picked for Team USA's women's basketball team sparked plenty of debates across the basketball world.
With Brink being out of the USA's women's 3x3 Olympic squad, fans think that Clark can be on the roster alongside Cierra Burdick, Rhyne Howard, and Hailey Van Lith.
However, that cannot happen because Clark hasn't competed in any 3x3 competitions, making her ineligible.
It's likely that Brink's teammate with the Sparks, forward Dearica Hamby, will be her replacement.
Hamby averages 18.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game

Even if Clark was eligible, the USA squad would've likely replaced Brink with another big instead of a guard.
She has an average of 16.1 points per game.
