Lottery players in North Carolina should check their coat pockets for a winning ticket purchased this past winter.

A player in Greensboro has yet to claim their $100,000 prize, according to an NC Education Lottery news release, per local Fox affiliate WJW.

The prize came out of a $3 Power Play ticket bought for the December 25 drawing.

It was purchased at a Publix on West Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro.

The winning numbers were 5-12-20-24-29 and Powerball of 4.

The ticket was set to expire on June 22.

But because this date falls on a Saturday when the lottery office is closed, the winner has until Monday, June 24 at 5:00 pm to claim their prize, reported WJW.

The $50,000 prize doubled to $100,000 when the 2X multiplier was drawn.

The ticket matched the numbers on four white balls and the red Powerball.

The odds of scoring a match like this are 1 in 913,129, per the lottery.

DOUBLE TROUBLE

Meanwhile, another Powerball prize stands to be claimed.

It also came from a $3 Power Play ticket but the drawing took place on December 30.

Worth $200,000, the $50,000 prize quadrupled to $200,000 when the 4X multiplier was drawn.

Its winning numbers for that ticket are 10, 11, 26, 27, 34, and 7 for the Powerball.

But you have to act fast.

Powerball Ticket Expiration

Here's how much time you have to claim a Powerball win:

When it comes to national lotteries, Powerball tickets are valid for 180 days from the draw date.

This gives players a six-month window to check their tickets and claim any prizes.

Some state lotteries, such as New York, give winners one year from the date of the draw to claim their prize.

The expiration date is typically found on the back of a ticket.

Meanwhile, unclaimed prizes are kept by the lottery jurisdiction.

If a Powerball prize goes unclaimed, the money must be returned to all lotteries in proportion to their sales for the draw run.

Players only have until Thursday, June 27 to claim their win.

The ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven on Idlewild Road in Stallings in Union County.

The NC Education Lottery funds education initiatives.

Money raised by the lottery provides scholarships and grants based on financial need for students attending North Carolina-based state universities or community colleges.
