Taking to Reddit, the woman revealed that a family friend recently adopted a daughter.

After adopting the child they decided to give her the incredibly unusual name, ABCDE.

The woman revealed that the name is supposed to be pronounced "absidy", which is in itself a rather unique moniker.

Conveniently, the parent's last name begins with an F, meaning that the child is called ABCDE F.

The woman said: "I have a family friend (they are friends with my parents) and they named their adopted daughter "ABCDE" and their last names conveniently starts with an "F".

The little girl's name is supposed to sound like 'absidy'.

"I can't help but feel bad for the poor baby she's not much older than 4 or 5."

The name sent Reddit viewers into a frenzy, and people raced to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One person said: "It makes me so happy that I was born and raised in Germany where names like this are actually illegal".

A second person joked: "Meet my daughter, Abcde, and my son, Qwerty."

"It was spelled 'JKMNO' because there's 'No L' and I wish I was joking".

A fourth chimed in: "Seriously, there needs to be a law to protect children from this!

"I get the impression that anyone called James, or Sarah, or anything normal will be the ones with unusual names in the future."
