A MUM says she regrets giving her son an unusual name which people say sounds like a serial killer.
Eleven months on from her baby's birth, the mum is having second thoughts after naming her son Karver McClain.

Opening up about how she chose the moniker on Reddit, the woman wrote: “So I had my son almost 11 months ago and we named him Karver McClain. Before I ever even got pregnant I decided on the name McClain.
“I don’t even remember where I heard the name but I know that I immediately fell in love with the name.
“My baby’s father didn’t feel the same way though, so we compromised and made it his middle name instead which was okay to me at the time because I couldn’t for the life of me think of a middle name that would sound good with it.”
The woman revealed her mother was reading through a list of names and discovered the moniker “Karver”.
She continued: “I heard it loved it and so did his dad.
“I thought it looked dumb with a C so we spelt it K and we put it on the birth certificate.
“We felt fine about it but fast forward a few months later and I start second guessing it.
“I asked for opinions on the name in a baby name facebook group and got over 80 responses, all bad.

“Several people said that it was a perfect name for a serial killer and others told me that they’d hate their mum forever if she named them Karver.
“Others are just telling me it’s horrible.

Many people confirmed her fears and said they weren’t sure about the name either.

Many people suggested she slightly tweak the name to be “Carter”, instead of “Karver”.
