iHOP fans say closed location will be ‘reborn’ as a familiar supermarket set to open at former site
AN iHOP location is being demolished to make way for a well-known supermarket.
Luckily, fans of the diner chain will find a new location opening just across the street.
In Quincy, Massachusetts, the building of a permanently closed iHOP is about to be demolished.
The restaurant closed for good last month.
It was one of a handful of pancake house locations in the Greater Boston area.
However, locals have now learned that the building will be replaced with a new development that includes a 300-unit residential building and a Trader Joe's.

iHop has been given $1.2 million from the city, which forced the company to surrender its lease early, to open a new restaurant across the street.
Competition dates for the new iHop and Trader Joe's locations have not yet been confirmed.
Nevertheless, fans of both companies have shared their excitement about the change on social media.
"IHOP in Quincy will be reborn in a new space nearby," wrote one on X.

"I was a little bummed by the closing of the IHOP, but this is a positive change,' agreed one.

Due to its unique product selection and renowned customer service, fans have been eager to get a new store in their area.
Trader Joe's is the ninth largest grocery chain by store count in the US.
