Well, what do you know—we have a rematch of the 2023 national championship game, as UConn and San Diego State will play in what is essentially a home game for UConn at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
Both teams head into this matchup after relatively no challenge in the Round of 32 as UConn beat Northwestern 75-58 and SDSU beat Yale 85-57.
For UConn, Tristen Newton led the way with 20 points, 10 assists, and three rebounds, while Donovan Clingan had 14 points and 14 rebounds.
They shot 53.7% from the field but just 13.6% from three-point range. Meanwhile, Northwestern shot 37.3% from the field and 26.7% from three-point range.
As for SDSU, Jaedon LeDee led the way with 26 points and nine rebounds, while Darrion Trammell had 18 points, four assists, and five rebounds.
They shot 52.7% from the field, 48.1% from three, and held Yale to 37% from the field.
