As the latest series gets underway, we've cracked on and ranked all the previous seasons of Love Island UK from the worst to the best.

10. Season nine

Season nine of Love Island was the second winter edition of the show.

During this season, we welcomed an array of new arrivals, including Kai Fagan, Sanam Harrinanan, Lana Jenkins, Ron Hall, Tom Clare, and Samie Elishi.

Although Love Island started off strong with the introduction of new host Maya Jama, this season lacked some twists and turns.

Season nine followed the same format as previous years and we found ourselves pining for more; especially the arrival of Casa Amor in a bid to spice up the show.

Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan were crowned the winners of the second-ever season of Winter Love Island in March 2023.

Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins came behind the duo in second place.

9. Season ten

The tenth season of Love Island returned with one familiar face.

The show featured returning contestant Kady McDermott, who was looking for love alongside islanders Jess Harding, Sammy Root, Molly Marsh, and Zachariah Noble.

Although we had high hopes for season ten, this series of Love Island felt the same as the others.

Fans of the show also agreed that Love Island season 10 lacked something new and took to social media to share their thoughts.

One viewer said: ''Please change the format.''

Meanwhile, a second fan complained: ''Not just the same old games, talent night, Casa Amor, babies, silly speeches – it needs a shake-up.''

However, one moment we won't forget from this season is Tyrique and Whitney's rap performance during the iconic talent show segment.

But it was islanders Jess Harding and Sammy Root who took the winning title home.

8. Season six

The UK reality show's sixth season began broadcasting in 2020 and was Love Island's first winter edition.

The cast of sexy singletons included Finley Tapp, Paige Turley, Luke Trotman, Callum Jones, Molly Smith, and Siânnise Fudge.

During this season, islander Shaughna Phillips had arguably one of the most iconic moments of the winter edition with just two words.

Shaughna was coupled up with Callum Jones when the villa was rocked by a classic Casa Amor twist.

While she remained loyal, Callum returned to the main villa with Molly Smith, causing Shaughna to tell her: "Congrats, hun."

Like season seven, the sixth series of the show felt like something was missing and left fans somewhat uninterested.

Although season seven was one with minimal conflict and chaos, some fans did appreciate seeing a different side to the show.

Paige Turley and Finn Tapp were crowned the winners of the first-ever winter edition.

7. Season seven

The seventh season of Love Island landed on screens in June 2021.

Taking part in this season were bikini babes Millie Court, Chloe Burrows, Faye Winter, and Liberty Poole.

The 2021 instalment also introduced us to men including Liam Reardon, Toby Aromolaran, Teddy Soares, and Jake Cornish.

Sadly, this season didn't provide as many memorable moments as we had seen before.

It did however show the time Mary Bedford's hair magically changed from loose beachy tresses to a stylish updo in seconds.

The editing blip came in an episode where the camera panned to Mary showing her hair loose, then when it came back round again, her hair had been pinned up.

Although the seventh edition of Love Island wasn't the worst, it did fail to bring the right balance of love and drama.

The seventh season was won by Liam Reardon and Millie Court.

6. Season eight

Season eight of the show was filmed in a new villa in Majorca.

As well as Love Island's new location, the show also welcomed several new sexy singletons, including Gemma Owen, Luca Bish, Davide Sanclimenti, and Ekin-Su Culculoglu.

For the first time in the show's history, the series featured a returning contestant, with original islander Adam Collard having previously appeared in the fourth series.

This new twist was what fans were waiting for, however, it was the arrival of one bombshell that kept us tuning in each week.

During her time in the villa, Ekin-Su stirred up some of the season's best moments, including her villa escape on all fours in an effort to avoid being seen by the other islanders.

After providing several meme-worthy moments, the 2022 series was won by none other than Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti.

5. Season one

Love Island's first-ever instalment hit screens back in 2015.

The first season saw original islanders Jess Hayes, Hannah Elizabeth, Jon Clark, and Joshua Ritchie call the sun-soaked villa home for the summer.

And while the season now feels super outdated, it did provide a Love Island first; a shock proposal.

Jon and Hannah's telly love affair produced an engagement with islander Jon going down on one knee during the series finale, although they never made it down the aisle.

And neither did any of the others; despite some couples finding love briefly, this series formed more friendships than romances, leaving fans slightly disappointed.

The winners of the very first series of Love Island were Jessica Hayes and Max Morley.

4. Season four

The fourth season of Love Island began in June 2018.

The cast included Dani Dyer, Jack Fincham, Megan-Barton Hanson, Wes Nelson, and Georgia Steel.

If you're like us, then this series is up there with one of the best as it kept us well and truly entertained all summer long.

But almost as good as the show itself are the hilarious memes that did the rounds on social media following each episode.

Season four of Love Island saw an array of iconic action, including Georgia Steel's famous ''loyal'' catchphrase and the “Do Bits Society” formed by islanders Wes, Josh Denzel, and Jack Fowler.

This season was won by Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham.

3. Season three

Season three of Love Island brought one of the show's most memorable bromances.

However, what made this season stand out was the introduction of the fan-favorite twist Casa Amor.

Casa Amor saw eleven new islanders arrive in a separate villa to stir up trouble in paradise and put the couples to the ultimate test.

The 2017 season introduced us to islanders Kem Cetinay, Amber Davies, Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood.

As well as finding romance on the show, islanders Chris and Kem forged a fully-fledged bromance during their time in the villa.

Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies were the winners of Love Island UK season 3.

2. Season two

Taking second spot on our list is Love Island season two.

First landing on screens back in 2016, the second season of the reality dating show brought a whole host of drama and several unforgettable Love Island names.

This iteration included a whole host of memorable islanders, such as Cara De La Hoyde, Nathan Massey, Kady McDermott, and Scott Thomas.

But that's not the only reason this season takes the second spot.

Season two is one of our favorites thanks to the show's shocking exits.

It was during this season that Malia was removed from the villa following an altercation with Kady and Zara was stripped of her Miss Great Britain title after spending the night in the hideaway.

Season two saw Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde crowned the winners of Love Island.

When it comes to the history of Love Island, fans of the hit show generally agree that the fifth season takes the top spot; and we do too!

It was during this season that we met one of Love Island's most memorable couples, Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague.

Not only did this summer of love give us an array of iconic islanders, it also provided fans with several dramatic moments that have gone down in Love Island history.

It's hard to forget the row that sparked Michael's signature phrase ''CHALDISH'' or the dramatic breakup between Anna and Jordan.

Season five saw Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague runners up to winners Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea.
