The hit reality dating show Love Island is heading back to the newly revamped Mallorcan villa for the eleventh installment of the series.

Maya Jama is once again at the helm of the ITV show, and will be joined by a gaggle of twentysomethings — and one thirtysomething — looking to find love (and fame).

The show is a phenomenon in the UK and has a growing US fan base, but as it doesn't in the US you might be wondering how to tune in.

Don't fear: we'll get you up to speed with everything you need to know about the new season and how to stream Season 11 from the US.

When does Love Island start?

Love Island All Stars will return to UK screens today, 3rd June 2024. However, as it airs at 9 pm UK time, it comes out in the middle of the night for American audiences; specifically, at 2 am EDT.

ITV is yet to announce the date of the final but past years tell us that the show is likely to run for around eight weeks.

Typically there are six episodes per week — five normal episodes on weekdays plus one "unseen bits" special on Saturdays — meaning we can expect almost 50 episodes over the next two months.

Love Island: Aftersun, a chat show debriefing the week's events, will also make a return, as will The Morning After podcast, which is hosted by three former islanders and comes every day from Tuesday to Saturday.

How to watch Love Island UK in the US

Love Island UK airs live on ITV and ITVX, but the best way for US fans to tune in is through a VPN that will allow you to access UK streaming services like ITVX from the US.

Here’s how to watch UK Love Island using a VPN with step-by-step instructions:

  1. Sign up for a VPN like ExpressVPN or NordVPN, and install it on your device.
  2. In that VPN’s user interface, choose a UK server.
  3. Head to the ITVX and find Love Island.
  4. Hit play.

Not only that, but you will also be able to access all past seasons of the show and catch up on the drama and winners from the villa in past years.

You can stream the live show from 2 am EDT. Episodes are usually put on ITVX as soon as they're finished, which is usually around 3:05 am EDT (although some special episodes go on a bit longer).

Where is Love Island UK filmed?

This will be the 11th edition of the show, which is filmed in a villa in sunny Mallorca, one of the Balearic Islands to the east of Spain.

The Winter version of the show, which was replaced by an "All-Stars" version this year, is held in the Western Cape of South Africa.

The success of the franchise has also spawned a variety of international versions; the US iteration, whose sixth series starts next week, is filmed in the Pacific paradise of Fiji.

Who won Love Island UK 2023?

The reigning champs of the summer version of Love Island are Jess Harding and Sammy Root, who won back in July 2023.

The couple, both 22, won the £50,000 ($64k) prize pot, but unfortunately, decided to split less than two months after the show aired.

The crown-holders of the All-Stars series of Love Island, which aired earlier this year, are Molly Smith and Tom Clare. The couple are still together a few months later.

What is Casa Amor in Love Island?

Casa Amor is a second villa and a fan-favorite element of the show, offering lots of drama along with challenges; it's said to be the biggest test for current couples.

The villa is split into two groups, with one group heading off to Casa Amor, and once split six new men and six new women head into the two villas to test the current couples and turn heads.

How does Love Island work?

The reality dating show sees single men and women head into an isolated villa to find love but with the viewing public voting in.

The singletons, known as islanders, couple up and take part in challenges that test relationships, but not only that — the dreaded recouplings see contestants swap partners and singletons at the end dumped from the show.

The last couple standing is in with the chance of winning £50,000 ($64k), but they face a final challenge — they either choose to split or steal the cash.

They can either choose to share the prize pot or steal, if one chooses to steal they take home everything, if they both steal they lose everything.

Do they drink on Love Island?

The show has strict rules on the show, including limits on what the contestants can drink, with islanders allowed one or two drinks per night.

Initial seasons of the show allowed the contestants to drink rather a lot more than that, but producers decided to introduce a strict limit on the amount Islanders could drink after concerns were raised about the contestants' well-being.

However, the islander's water bottles have become an iconic aspect of the show, and are merchandised for fans.

What is the best season of Love Island UK?

Love Island aficionados generally agree that the fifth season of Love Island is the standout of the series; it followed a disappointing fourth season and had the perfect combination of drama and heartfelt romance.

It also introduced us to some of the series' most beloved Islanders, including Maura Higgins and Ovie Soko.

And while the winners Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea split up just months after the show ended, runners-up Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have become the highest-profile couple the Series has seen; the couple are now engaged, and Molly-Mae gave birth to a daughter in January.

Season two of the show, which aired back in 2016, is also highly rated thanks to its less refined nature; there were furious arguments, huge helpings of drama, and much steamier sex scenes than more recent series.
