Who was serial killer Joshua Wade?

Joshua Wade was a serial killer from Alaska.

In 2009, he was convicted of the 2007 carjacking and murder of Mindy Schloss, a 52-year-old nurse who was also his neighbor.

Wade was sentenced to 99 years in prison for the 2007 murder and also admitted to murdering Della Brown in 2000 as part of his plea agreement.

In exchange for serving his sentence outside of Alaska, Wade confessed that he was behind three additional unsolved murders.

He reportedly told investigators that he killed a 38-year-old man in 1994 and a 30-year-old man in 1999.

Wade also admitted to killing another man on the same night he murdered Della Brown.

He was 14 years old when he committed his first murder.

What happened to Joshua Wade?

On June 14, 2024, Joshua Wade died in an Indiana prison, where he had been transferred to in 2014, according to Anchorage Daily News.

The Indiana Department of Correction said he was "found unresponsive in his cell."

Brandi Pahl, a spokesperson for the department said, “Despite life-saving measures being performed, he was pronounced dead.”

The outlet also reports that an autopsy is underway.

He was 44 years old.

Who were Joshua Wade's victims?

Joshua Wade claimed the lives of at least five victims during his crusade of crime.

His first known victim was 38-year-old John Michael Martin in 1994 when Wade was just 14 years old.

Wade confessed to murdering Henry Ongtowasruk in 1999. Ongtowasruk was 30 years old.

Anchorage Daily News reports that both men suffered from an undisclosed mental illness.

In 2000, he murdered Della Brown and later confessed to killing an unidentified man that same night.

He was acquitted of sexual assault and murder charges but convicted of witness tampering in relation to Brown's murder.

After completing his probation in 2007, he killed Mindy Schloss, who was a 52-year-old nurse practitioner and his neighbor.
