Wayne Goss (@waynegoss), a makeup artist and YouTuber, shared the makeup tips and tricks with The U.S. Sun.

“The clue is in the name of ‘reverse contouring’ — it’s the opposite of contouring," he said.

"It works as a simpler process to raise your facial features and give your face a slimmer look."

Goss explained that the concealer placed in the right places on your face can lift.

"This process works by applying concealer in a few specific places on your face and then blending it out, rather than applying contouring shades on your skin," he said.

"Some of the key places to apply concealer include under your eyes, where it’ll lift and brighten the under eye area, and on your cheekbones, which will lift the entire face."

Aside from placement, the most important part of the technique is ensuring the right shade.

"Just ensure that you’re using the right color concealer to match your skin tone," Goss said.

"Nothing too dark, and nothing too light. Makeup isn’t meant to be seen, and is meant to be subtle.”

Another trick that can give your face dimension is the proper use of highlighter.

"Using your ring figure or a highlighter brush, such as one from my new range, the ‘White Gold Collection’, to apply highlighter just above the arch of your brow is a shortcut to lifting your facial features," Goss said.

"This highlighter technique aims to lift your brow and facial features visually, giving off the impression that your features are more lifted than they are.

"Highlighter in the right places really do give the face an extra glow and always looks beautiful when done correctly."

Goss previously warned makeup fans against committing a mistake that can age you.

Nothing too dark, and nothing too light. Make-up isn’t meant to be seen, and is meant to be subtle.

He told The U.S. Sun that he's seen too many people follow a common rule of thumb that actually worked against them.

"People make the big mistake of smiling when they add on blusher," he said.

"This is a common mistake that people do too often. Ultimately, it lifts the cheeks, and what goes up must come down at some point.

"This means the blusher will be lower than needs be, making you look older."

For best results and a youthful look, Goss explained that the tried-and-true method is to keep your makeup simple and consistent.

"Any make-up that is super over-the-top will imply that you’re trying to hide too much underneath," he said.

"Find a look that suits you and stick to it. Not only will you look younger in person, but your photos will also look much more graceful too!"
